In short: your messages never leave your computer. Backing up the iPhone and reading the backup happen entirely on your Mac. We only process what is strictly necessary to sell and activate the license, answer your questions and count usage anonymously.
Data controller: theAppsfactory, 24 rue Abel Gance, 84100 Orange, France — intergoldex@gmail.com.
In the app
- Your iPhone data (messages, photos, contacts…): copied and read on your computer only. We never have access to it.
- License activation: your key, an anonymous identifier of the computer (a non-reversible hash of the hardware identifier) and the computer's name. Purpose: to verify the license and limit its use to two computers. A check takes place at most once a week.
- Anonymous statistics: counters such as "a backup succeeded" (iOS version, size, duration) or "a backup was opened" (number of text messages, of conversations), with the app version. Never any content, name or number. Purpose: to improve the app. You can turn them off in Settings › Privacy.
On the website
- No advertising cookies and no audience measurement.
- Downloads: for each download, we record the device and browser (browser identifier), the browser language and the referring page, to count downloads. No IP address is kept for this purpose.
- Chat bubble (Hooky): if you write to us, we receive your message, and your name and email if you provide them, in order to reply to you. The bubble stores your conversation in your browser.
- Technical logs: the server may briefly keep logs (IP address, page requested) for its security.
Purchase
- Order: your email, your country, your license key, the payment reference, and where applicable your name, your billing address and your VAT number. Purposes: to perform the sale, send you the key and the invoice, and comply with our accounting and tax obligations.
- Payment: handled by Stripe, which processes your bank details; we do not have access to them.
- Emails: the key and the replies to your requests are sent through SendGrid.
